KANO – Worried by the needless conflicts or violence in the country, a non-governmental organization, Africa Initiative for Peace Building Advocacy and Advancement, AFRIPEACE have called on community leaders and organizations not to allow violent extremist to find a breeding ground in their communities in order to avoid reoccurrence of conflict.
The police command in Zamfara has rescued four women who were kidnapped three weeks ago in Bilbis village in Tsafe Local Government Area (LGA)of the state by bandits.
The Oba who serves as the Eleda of Eda Ile, in Ekiti East local government area of the state, was reportedly abducted in the presence of his wife at their farm at Eda Ile on Friday evening, June 25.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has said that bandits, kidnappers and terrorists operate after consuming hard drugs which usually give them fake confidence and strength.
The attack is believed to be the first Boko Haram attack since the death of their leader, Abubakar Shekau. A security team led by police officers engaged Boko Haram gunmen in a shootout and rescued many people earlier kidnapped by the terrorists.
